Dear Readers,
We are now, more than ever, beholden to living in the present moment. Have we entered into a new nightmare of our own making, or have we begun to unveil longstanding afflictions? To what extent is technology to blame? At the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, we seem to have retreated deeper into the neurosis of the online world. What does it say about the current state of culture when we choose to pick battles in the digital sphere rather than focus on the health and mental wellbeing of ourselves and others? Many are left struggling to envision a real future, while others are drunk on nostalgia, trying to cope. The theme of this issue is "ephemera" - an exploration of the chaotic present, of the world that was lost, what we cling to, and what we hope to achieve.
Those who are gifted with language might rely on humor in these times, and take great pleasure in talking around what is not often said aloud. Others might refuse to acknowledge anything out of the ordinary and cling, for as long as possible, to the quotidian. How does the present moment allow us, and more importantly, how does this inhibit us from dealing with obstacles of various scale? We hope that the texts presented in this issue might allow you, dear reader, to begin to answer some of these questions. Take care of each other, and stay safe out there.
Regards,
The Editors
